Math
Math is taught by Mrs. Burns whose love of stats is rivaled is only by most people’s love of breathing. The year is very all over the place. We start with number theory, before moving into statistics, and pre-calc after. However, the entire year is spent with an on again, off again relationship with math modeling, including us competing in multiple competitions. Despite how all over the place this might look, core concepts bleed into one another surprisingly frequently. This results in many moments where everything comes together, recontextualizing a month's worth of work. The class is a balance of feeling like the first caveman who discovered fire, and a feeling like you're a caveman who happens to be on fire. The class is one of the most rewarding experiences that I've participated in and continues to surprise me everyday.

This was a presentation given on the ANOVA statistical test. During our statistics unit, me, Anh, Charlotte, and Noah had the opportunity to teach our classmates about this test. It's a test that's often skipped in most statistics courses, even though it has some great uses. And yes, I did make the title slide, I know, it does look amazing.

This is our project proposal for MTFC. MTFC (modeling the future challenge) is a math modeling competition where students make mathematical models for whatever they deem fit. These incldue predicting risk, probibility, and cost of events to occur. This is achieved through using a multitude of data sources and using that data to predict these factors. My group is with Adam, Mary, Niranjan, and Andrew and we are doing a project based around the carbon emissions of the current war in gaza.
