Hola! Spanish at Mass Academy is completely immersive, meaning that English is never spoken during class. We use authentic literature, music, film, discussions, and games to understand the language in a meaningful context. The course relies heavily on project-based work, meaning students are constantly working on their Spanish skills as they collaborate on assignments and projects.
One of our first projects involved picking a Spanish artist and doing a presentation on them. My project was on Pablo Picasso where I presented 3 different pieces of artwork that he made. I described the artwork on each slide completely in Spanish. If you want to see what I said during the presentation, scroll to the last page of the PDF.

One essay we had to write in Spanish was a description of the activities we do each day. I wrote about my average Mass Academy day with each of the activities I do. The assignment helped students learn how to describe daily routines using a variety of verbs in relation to when the actions are performed.
