Humanities

Merging History and English, Humanities at MAMS is taught by Ms. Small and engages us in content towards understanding one question: “What does it mean to be human?” Through essay composition, literature, and class discussion we strive to better understand our world and ourselves.

Walden Skit

After reading Walden over the summer, we formed groups to create a skit to be performed at Bournedale. My group consisted of Grace Qiu, Sharvi Pujari, and Medhansh Choudhury. We decided to base our skit on The Button by Cut on YouTube, a speed dating show. To the left is our script!

Education

In A Term, our first unit focused on education. For this essay assignment, we were given full creative freedom to develop our own research question and argument. My question was: To what extent does competition benefit higher education admissions? As the prospect of college got closer and closer, I became critical of the hypercompetitive environment that the college admissions process seemed to create–at what point does it go too far? I enjoyed researching and writing this essay as it allowed me to articulate my thoughts on a topic deeply relevant to our lives today.
