Humanities is a course taught by Ms. Small. This class is comparable to a combination of your typical high-school English and History courses. The goal of this class is to investigate and develop an understanding of what it means to be human. In our pursuit of this understanding, we read a variety of texts and write various essays on a wide range of topics.
Walden by Henry David Thoreau was the book we were assigned to read over the summer. While the book itself was not the best, this assignment was quite fun. This assignment was essentially to create a skit regarding something related to Thoreau, and we even performed these skits later. My group chose to create a skit titled “Make America Natural Again,” in which we had a political debate between Trump, Kamala, and Thoreau.

We started off the year by analyzing the educational system in the United States, particularly with a focus on the issues in it. After this, we were assigned an argumentative essay on any topic correlating to education. I chose to write my essay on high-school rankings. This topic is personal to me, especially coming from a school where everyone is ranked first to last every year on our report cards.
