Extracurriculars!

Robotics

At Tahanto, there was no FRC team, so when I saw that MAMS offered it, I was overjoyed. I joined FRC190 immediately, and now I love it! You will typically find me in the shop working with the HAAS, cutting and drilling materials into pieces for our robot that we will be using in competition. I have begun to learn how to use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). In the offseason, I was also a member of the drive team at some competitions including River Rage, Battle of the Bay, and Girls Behind the Glass. I am typically the operator, but have also been the driver.

Community Service

In my free time, along with all of my hobbies, I love to do community service! As an extension of robotics, I am an FLL (First Lego League) mentor! When I have days off, I love to go to the Marlborough Community Cupboard and do things like make the vegetable boxes. Some of my favorite community services are those done with my class, such as the Community Harvest Project.

A Term

During A term, I am in the CAD Club and the Biotechnology. In CAD, I am learning how to use Onshape to 3D print a marble path at the end. I plan to apply the skills I learn here in robotics, as I have to use CAM for the HAAS programming. In biotech with Dr.C, we learn laboratory procedures and run mini-experiments such as extracting pigment Drosophila.

B Term

During B term, I continued with CAD club and made my own marble drop with Corey Lu. We created it in a way that it will continuously run throughout the whole path until the battery dies. Our design included a Ferris-wheel-esque to bring the marble back up after it has gone through the drop.
