Spanish class, with SeƱora Wildfong, is a class that focuses on immersion in the language beyond just learning vocabulary and grammar concepts. In this class, which remains entirely in the target language, we discuss various movies, books, and media. This class has taught me how to analyze different popular Spanish pieces and truly enjoy the art.

Cara De Piedra (Face of Stone)

Our Spanish movie, Cara De Piedra, focuses on the mission of a cold, calculated detective who seeks to capture members of a gang. To do this, he engages in a poker game with the members, seeking to make them accidentally confess. Through the round of poker, the audience slowly begins to piece the picture together and identify the culprits.

Childhood Essay

Another assignment we worked on was an essay about a memorable event from the past. This task allowed us to combine different verb tenses to create a vivid and descriptive narrative. I wrote about a hiking trip with my family, complete with rain, slips, and mud. The central message of my story was the importance of appreciating the small moments with your family, as those are often the ones that stay with you the longest.
