Mathematica is a program that we are required to use in math this year. It is a useful program to graph equations and show work. Here is one of the Mathematica labs that we had to do. The program can contain normal text along with input command lines, so information can be explained outside of mathematical equations.
During the month of November, there is a math competition which spans across 11 days. This competition was once limited to 36 hours and before that 24 hours. Despite the 11-day window, the school has a tradition of keeping the competition of 36 hours, and a whole Thursday and Friday is dedicated to the competition. During the competition, teams chose between 2 problems to work on the entire competition. In my case, my team chose problem A which dealt with the public use of energy and electrical outlets. The paper that we wrote in Mathematica describes a mathematical model and the impacts those predictions will cause.
