Learning Math Modeling
Taught by Ms. Durost, this course pushes students to find deeper connections between problems and real life scenarios. We work mostly in groups, practicing how to mathematically model and solve a situation while also effectively splitting up and assisting each other in work.
HiMCM Practice
HiMCM is a math competition, in which we must mathematically model and find a solution to a problem within 50 hours. This was a very challenging project due to the combination of a pressing time constraint, proving a solution to a real-world problem, and writing an in-depth explanation on the solution. Before this competition, we prepared by doing the same steps with a practice problem, shown here.

MTFC Project Proposal
MTFC, standing for the Modeling the Future Challenge, is a math modeling competition, in which groups must find a topic to investigate and model. The goal of the competition is to use the created model to predict and advise for future actions. My group, consisting of Donya, Ruchir, Suhrit, Aashria, and I, decided to focus our project on the effects of online video games on the mental health of individuals, especially children. We chose this because of the huge presence of online gaming in the world of today, holding influence over many households and children. Aspects such as poor moderation in gaming therefore has a huge capability to negatively affect large populations, so greater thought about the effects of gaming is necessary.
