My Experience in Humanities
Taught by Ms. Small, this class combines history and literature to help students answer the question of what it means to be human. We read and discuss texts in class, in addition to analyzing topics through a variety of mediums, such as written essays, skits, art pieces, and more.
Walden Skit
One of the first projects in Humanities was to write and perform a skit, inspired by our summer reading, Walden, by Henry David Thoreau. Because most students found Walden to be an exasperating read, the skits were a fun way to vent about the book while still having some deep analysis on why the book is still important. My group, including Donya, Tanay, Sam, Avanti, and I, chose to write a skit about Thoreau seeing his own legacy and going to therapy to confront frustrated MAMS students. I especially enjoyed designing and creating the props, shown at the bottom of the script.

A.I. Synthesis Essay
This assignment started off as an in-class timed essay, where we had to use multiple sources to present an argument detailing how the advent of artificial intelligence has impacted education. After the timed writing period, however, we were also allowed to take time outside of class to revise and polish the piece. This is the result of that extra time.
