What is race? What is ethnicity? These are some of the central questions explored in Humanities. Taught by Mrs. Small, this class is a combination of History and English that encourages deep thinking and discussion. Students write essays, perform in plays, complete group projects, and analyze how humanity and social constructs affect our everyday lives.

Walden Skit

Walden by Henry David Thoreau, published in 1854, describes Thoreau’s experience living alone in the woods near Walden Pond. The book serves as a journal of his thoughts and reflections during that time. For the Walden skit, we were tasked with creating a short performance that connected to Thoreau’s ideas and character.

Satire Essay

Satire is a form of writing or media that uses humor, irony, and exaggeration to expose or critique the flaws of an individual or society. In this essay, I analyzed the deeper meaning of a satire of my choice. I chose Washington’s Dream, a sketch by SNL.
