In this class, I worked on a 6-month long independent research project with the assistance of Dr. C. The course provides guidance on effective brainstorming techniques, writing professional emails, and developing strategies to create a feasible science fair project.

Nanoparticle-Based Disruption of Biofilms: A Novel Strategy to Counteract Antibiotic Resistance

The project examines the use of silver nanoparticles to destroy biofilms in order to preventn antibiotic resistance. The results of this research showed that it was possible to destroy E. coli biofilm using silver nanoparticles.

Research Question

Can silver nanoparticles be synthesized to eradicate biofilms?

Hypothesis

If a synthesized nanoparticle can destroy two types of biofilms, then it has the potential to destroy other biofilms
