Coming from the Dominican Republic, it's seriously impossible for me to not have something to do with baseball. My dad is in love with the sport, and so is my brother. While I may not LOVE it, it's definitely a big part of my life. My dad has played baseball his entire life, and my little brother has played it since he could walk. Now he plays local and travel teams- so being his older sister I have to follow him everywhere, meaning there's a baseball game to watch at least 2 times a week.
Instead of baseball, I've actually been starting to do track teams, like Cross Country and Outdoor Track. I was awarded the "Fastest Girl" Award in my first and second year of Cross Country, and got into districts a few times for the track teams. I got 2nd in the City Championships for Worcester in 2023! You know those sayings of "My sport is your sports punishment." Yeah, it's completely true for Cross Country. If you don't believe me I dare you to run a 5k- it's not as easy as it sounds.
Other than sports, I've been doing band since 7th grade in Middle school, where I played the oboe-which if you didn't know is basically a mix between a clarinet and a flute, except WAY better. Just jumping into the instrument was really difficult, especially since the oboe is really finicky with reeds and temperature. I continued to play the oboe until 10th grade, where I eventually got a solo at my last concert for the band, which was amazing. I also had to do marching band, where I played the clarinet.
As for clubs, I did the Robotics and Math team at my sending school, which was really interesting for what it's worth. I got to hang out with friends and work on the notebook and the robot for robotics, so it was really fun. While I wasn't in any drawing clubs at my sending school, I love drawing, and am really good at drawing items. I'm not good at drawing people, which is something I'm working on at the moment. Also, past-time? Anything above or Google's Dinosaur game is pretty great! I also like writing and published a few pieces of writing to my school's Journal.
Here are some of my writing's from year's prior!
