Spanish

Course Description

In Spanish class taught by Ms. Wildfong, our goal is to speak only in Spanish for the entire period and become immersed in the language. It’s a very active class where we learn by doing. In here, we read books, practice grammar, and listen to music or watch movies to hear how the language is actually used. We also get to be creative by making our own Spanish memes and playing games such as Monopoly that help us think on our feet. Overall, it’s a fun environment that keeps me engaged while really improving my confidence in communicating and understanding the language, especially since it is my first year.

Zombi Movie

In this project, we created a zombie-themed video in Spanish with my groupmates Sanvi V, Rddhima B, Jack T, and Saanvi S. The goal was to practice using Spanish in a creative storytelling format while reinforcing vocabulary and sentence structure in context. This project helped us become more comfortable speaking and writing in Spanish, especially while using more complex phrases to describe actions and events in a narrative.

Mi Rutina per Diaria Essay

In this project, we were required to write in Spanish about our daily schedule so that we can practice using reflexive verbs. This was done about halfway through the year and you can see how I got more comfortable using basic sentence structures and going into details.

Mi Casa Essay

This essay was the first one we wrote in Spanish. Here, we were assigned to describe three rooms in our home. It was meant to be a practice of our beginning verbs, using colors and things located around the house. My Spanish was not great in the beginning, but it's good to look back on to see how I have improved!
