About Me

I was born in Worcester, where I have lived my entire life. Since I live in Worcester, commuting to Mass Academy is easy and quite short of a ride, which I am lucky to be able to do. Mass Academy is the fourth school I have ever gone to. My first was Flagg Street Elementary School, which was from kindergarten all the way up to 6th grade. After graduating there, I went to Forest Grove Middle School, a two-year school, and then after those pair of years, I went to Doherty Memorial High School, where I would be for another two years until becoming a new student at Mass Academy.

I was enrolled in the Engineering and Technology Academy at my sending school. This was a section of the school that had its own group, as well as the fact that it allowed me to take engineering classes. There, I learned about the engineering design process, including how to properly write in an engineering notebook, draw certain sketches, use a CAD software called Inventor, and how to properly present. I additionally learned about some general engineering/physics topics, some woodwork and physical designing, alongside robots and the coding language of RobotC.

I have been participating in math team and math meets for four years, ever since joining the team in middle school; math team has always been my favorite extracurricular. I’ve always enjoyed mathematics, which is why I am at Mass Academy, and doing this gave me a larger insight into the subject, as well as giving it a flare of competitiveness. Throughout the past four years, I have done many different types of extracurricular activities. In middle school, I was a part of student council, the robotics team, science club, and the National Juniors Honors Society. At Doherty, I was in the science club, as well as a captain of the math team.

Throughout my life, I have always been interested in sports, both playing and watching them. When I was really young, I played on a basketball team for a few years at the JCC. I also played four years of baseball during elementary school in the Joe Schwartz league, even winning the season one year. In middle school, I played flag football for the Worcester Cowboys for two years. Then, once beginning my freshman year at Doherty, I was on the tackle football team, which was quite a drastic shift from flag football, but I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, half-way through my sophomore year, I broke my left wrist and I was out for the remainder of the season. Playing sports throughout my whole life has given me a hobby for it, as well as it has definitely gotten me physically active.

MathAltitude

Ever since eighth grade, I have been taking math classes at Math Altitude. The quality of education provided there is excellent, and it has put me in the position where I am today. In eighth grade, I took an Algebra II course, in ninth, I took a Pre-Calculus course, and last year I took the AP Calculus BC course. This year, I am going to be taking the Linear Algebra course that is new there, and I am excited to see what I can learn. Due to taking math classes here, as well as participating in the math team the past four years, I was able to take the Algebra II course my freshman year at Doherty, self-learn Pre-Calculus over the summer, and then take AP Calculus BC my sophomore year.
