Advanced Spanish is taught by Señora Wildfong. In class, we watch and listen to many different movies, TV shows, and songs, to improve our interpersonal Spanish skills. Currently, we are working on making an original film in groups, but we've also written an essay and completed vocabulary journals and listening logs to build up our understanding of the Spanish world. On this page, you'll find a short response I wrote underlining the importance of learning a second language, along with an essay I wrote at the end of our first unit.
To begin the year, we read an article written by author Tamim Ansary titled "Why Learn a Second Language?," which describes the importance and significance of bilingualism in the world today. In the article, Ansary discusses the historical implications of translation, multilingualism, and the exchange of information. In my response, I reflected on the article and spoke about my own experiences being bilingual.

Cuento de Mi Niñez, or "a story of my childhood", is a short essay we wrote at the beginning of the year. After reading and watching a variety of short stories and movies, we were tasked with writing a story from our childhood entirely in Spanish using the imperfect and preterite past tenses. In my essay, I wrote about a childhood trip to Disney World, which you can find here!
