Mathematics
Math Modeling at Mass Academy combines problem-solving with real-world applications. We use tools such as Microsoft Excel to analyze data, perform statistical tests, and construct mathematical models. The course emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and communication, particularly through large-scale competitions such as HIMCM and MTFC.
Happy Birthday
For this assignment project, we designed a mathematical formula to try and find the day of the week someone was born if given the day, month, and year. The assignment reinforced core mathematical concepts while encouraging visual creativity and clear communication.
MTFC Corn Analysis
In the Modeling the Future Challenge, our team analyzed corn production data to address a real-world risk modeling problem. We applied statistical analysis and actuarial reasoning to identify trends and propose data-driven recommendations, strengthening our ability to justify conclusions quantitatively.
