Utilizing ELISA and rt-qPCR tests, the amount of pro-inflammatory cytokines will be analyzed to understand if STING was inhibited by MTX and DMF. This would allow for more specific medications in some autoimmune diseases.

Grant Proposal

This project discovers a new approach to alleviating symptoms in autoimmune diseases, specifically Crohn’s disease, by using a medication that is specific but also affordable. The treatments Dimethyl Fumarate(DMF) and Methotrexate(MTX), and it is a novel approaches in this research because they show promise for Crohn's disease due to their anti-inflammatory and non-suppressive properties on the immune system.
