World language at Mass Academy is an immersion course taught by Mrs.Wildfong, I'm currently in advanced French. In french, we focus on diving deep into the language by using authentic material like books, music, movies, games, and more. We get to understand how grammar works in real situations and do many fun projects.
An enjoyable activity we engaged in this year involved researching and preparing a French dish. Each participant had the freedom to choose the dish they wished t0 make, resulting in a diverse array of entrees, main courses, and desserts. I created beignets which, are a sweet square o fried dough. We then delivered presentations on the ingredients we sued, the dish's preparation process, and potential future changes for our chosen recipes.
In the begining of the school year we started by reading "La Belle et la Bete", or Beauty and the Beast in french. After we finished reading the book and watching the movie we were given the chance to write our own short stories in french. I enjoyed the freedom we got to write about whatever we wanted during our first writing assignment in this class.
