A Novel Approach to the Capture of CO2 Directly from the Air Using Metal-Organic Frameworks

-Importance-

The negative effects of global warming may seem distant and irrelevant, but they are already present and will only worsen if no changes are made to the large amount of carbon emissions released by human activity (NASA, n.d.). That's why it is important to explore various options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including clean energy sources, recycling CO2, and even capturing released CO2 directly from the air. This study examines an emerging material being studied for its absorption properties: metal-organic frameworks, and is important because the issue it addresses is a very pressing one that could affect everyone on the planet.
