Humanities

Humanities is a class taught by Ms. Small. Here, we explore various topics about humanity and society, while also expressing our ideas through writing and other forms. What we learn in this class is centered around the question that we aim to answer for ourselves: "What does it mean to be human?". So far, we have explored education, rhetoric, and satire, and are currently exploring identity!

Walden Skits

This project was a skit from the beginning of the year which we performed onstage. Ishan Kasam, Neil Gupta, Michelle Xu, and I explored the themes found in Henry David Thoreau's Walden, blending his experiences in a script featuring the protagonists of Lord of the Flies! Integrating Thoreau's own quotes into our script, we demonstrated how his philosophy applied to the setting of the latter story.

Synthesis Essay

For this assignment, we explored various perspectives from sources on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and wrote an essay based on our own stance. In my essay, I focus on the ethics of AI usage in an academic setting, and its complex role involving both benefits and detriments. Personally, I think AI can be used to achieve a lot, but it is necessary to harness its power to maintain academic integrity.
