Spanish is taught by Señora Wildfong and I am part of the Advanced Spanish group. This is an immersion class, meaning that we only speak the target language. In the class, we watch a lot of movies and tv shows, listen to music, and read books. As part of the class, we also write, film, and edit a short film on a topic of our choosing.
One of the assignments we received earlier in the year was to create a meme in Spanish about Mass Academy. I worked with Hazelyn to make several memes (you can find another one on her website). Throughout the year, Señora pins them up on a board in the hallway for everyone to enjoy. This one reads "Off Task Time" in the middle, "Homework" on the left, and "Phones" on the right.
We were also assigned a one-two page short essay about a story from our childhood, and it could be about anything we remembered or wanted to share. I wrote my essay about a pool party with my cousins at my grandparents' house, where one of my younger cousins nearly drowned. It was a scary day, but also filled with good memories of hanging out with my family and spending quality time together.
