WalkFit, a program led by Liz Myska (a blind lawyer), is an initiative to promote physical activity for the VIP (visually impaired person) community. The experience for non-VIPs involves going under blindfold to understand the VIP experience, and then learning how to guide other VIPs. I have been part of this program for more than a year, with just about 50 hours of service and I am planning to continue as a sighted guide long term. I help recruit other students to the program and I also help with training new guides. We go on walks all over Worcester.
More volunteering to come!
