Physics is taught by Ms. Chase. It is a rigorous course that aligns with the AP Physics curriculum, as well as going into deeper topics, like Calculus. Around once every term we must complete a lab in which sometimes we can choose the question to answer. The class goes fast but is very informational. You are guaranteed to learn a lot.
The first lab completed was the kinematics lab, where we measured acceleration on two different inclines. My lab partner, Abhikhya Sonti, and I made recordings and observations to gather data and constructed our lab reports on our own.
The second lab we completed was the dynamics lab where we were able to choose our own question as long as it related to the topic. I worked with Matthew Smith and Edward Goodwin to answer the question, does the angle affect the coefficient of friction between a block and a ramp? We constructed a modified Atwood’s machine to collect data. After conducting experimentation, we finished our 1-page lab reports on our own.
