Foreign languages are taught by Ms. Wildfong. She teaches two different languages, both Spanish and French. In the Intermediate Spanish class, we study Spanish at a comfortable level through projects, games, and movies. It is an immersion class, meaning that we must only speak Spanish when we enter the room. It makes conversation a little difficult but helps us practice our speaking skills and vocabulary.
To practice analyzing colors and objects, one of our first assignments was to pick three of an artist’s works and present them. Our presentations included objects or people (if applicable) in the painting, and descriptions of them. For example, I would say, “there are yellow bananas, red apples, red pomegranates, green pears, brown kiwis, and orange oranges,” in my presentation – except in Spanish.
This was the second essay that we completed. It entailed a detailed description of our daily routine. The purpose of this assignment was to practice using reflexive verbs, or verbs that you to yourself. For example, “I brush my teeth” is an example of reflexive because I am brushing my own teeth.
