Physics

chess pieces stacked upon one another

Physics, taught by Ms. Chase follows a fast-paced multifaceted curriculum merging content from AP Physics 1 and AP Physics C. Skills and strategies are developed to address everyday phenomena such as the interaction between two moving objects and the terminal velocity of a falling object. Students participate in the F=ma competition in February and the AAPT Physics Photo Contest later in the year as well!

The Inspiring Scientist Poster:
At the beginning of the school year we developed small presentations on historical and modern innovators that inspire us today. This culminated into a poster, where we presented a concise biography of each scientist and their relevance and contributions today. I chose Avicenna as my inspiring scientist because of his connection to modern medicine today and his diverse contributions to many schools of thought. The Kinematics Lab:
Mass Academy physics consists of many labs and lab reports. For our dynamics unit, which covers multidimensional forces and further applications of kinematics, our lab was focused on designing our own experiment to observe a linear relationship between pulley weights, gravity, and degree of incline using a smooth inclined slope.
