Math Modeling is taught by Mrs. Burns. This class covers math topics, problem solving, and how to communicate effectively in the mathematics field. We also participate in multiple math competitions, including HiMCM, NEML, and MTFC.
In Math Modeling, we had a group problem where we had to make a method to find the day of the week a person was born on. After we finished completing our method, we made a write-up to explain our problem statement, process, method/solution, and extensions that can be made to the project. I worked with Claire and Samhitha on this project.
Another project we worked on was the Epsilon School. In groups we developed a mathematical model to recommend what subjects the expanding Epsilon School should hire teachers for. We put our model and explanation into a presentation for our classmates. Our presentation can be seen to the right. I worked with Rishi and Daniel on this project.
