Humanities is taught by Mrs. Small. This class covers a wide range of topics with a focus on the question “What does it mean to be human?”. We attempt to understand this question through many ways including reading a variety of literature, having class discussions, and writing essays.
In this class, each student chose a topic related to education to write an essay about. I chose to write my essay about the importance of debates in schools. You can read my essay to the right.
Over the summer, everyone in the school had to read Walden by Henry David Thoreau. In the beginning of the year, everyone wrote skits related to Walden in small groups, then performed their skit for the school at Camp Bournedale. I collaborated with Megan, Abhikhya, and Palak.
