Physics

Physics is a course taught by Ms. Chase. Physics closely resembles the AP Physics C Mechanics class often offered at other schools, because of this many students opt to take the AP exam. We learn topics with algebra and calculus based methods including dynamics, energy, momentum, and centripetal motion. We do work in groups and independently, and take notes in class.

Traffic Light POW

The traffic POW (Problem Of the Week) was a lab we did in September in a group of three. We were tasked with developing a mathematical solution to determine how long a traffic light should remain yellow. This was challenging because we had to take into account the many factors that affect driving within our model.

Dynamics Lab

The dynamics lab involved using our knowledge of dynamics to modify a modified Atwood’s Machine and record any changes. My group decided to add a fan on top of the cart on the machine that blew air in the opposite direction to see how it would affect the outcome. Then we each individually wrote a write up on the findings of our test.
