Humanities
Humanities (Hum) is a class taught by Ms. Small that covers topics in
English and history. We have learned about education, AP Lang topics like ethos, pathos, logos, satire, and
logical fallacies, and we recently started the unit on social prejudice. We have assignments somewhat biweekly
called “Hum Journals” where we write about life at Mass Academy, world events, and grammar. Scroll down to see

Walden Skit
The Walden skits were the first assignment we had and were based on our summer reading
book Walden by Henry David Thoreau. We did these in random groups within our sections, I was with
Luke, Emmanuel, Sanvi, and Olivia. We did ours in a Dhar Mann style science fair that Thoreau judges. The moral
is that Thoreau sees the beauty in simple things in Walden.
