1. EOM Offshore: Pressure-Based Wave Energy Converter for Mooring Hoses

Project Overview: During my time at EOM Offshore LLC, I was tasked with co-leading the development of a specialized wave energy converter for mooring hoses, a system designed to capture pressure spikes and convert them into usable power for sensors and onboard electronics mounted on buoys. My role covered a wide range of responsibilities: I generated and refined design concepts, conducted technical research, built and tested physical prototypes, and created detailed CAD models using SolidWorks. I also assembled circuits for energy harvesting trials, integrated testing setups, and programmed an Arduino to validate system behavior under simulated conditions. Through this work, I gained valuable hands-on experience with the full research and development cycle, from ideation to practical experimentation. This is an ongoing project that is still evolving, and it will continue to be improved and developed in the years ahead.

2. Science Fair Project - Synergistic Piezoelectric Wind Turbine

For my science fair project, I created a model of a vertical axis wind turbine that used piezoelectric transducers and wake energy harvesting to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of vertical axis wind turbines for small scale energy production. The rationale of this project was to create compact yet effective renewable energy solutions for urban areas with space constraints. To pursue this project, I teamed up with a peer and created a CAD model of the wind turbine using OnShape, and then 3D printed all of the pieces which were then put together as per the model. The piezoelectric transducers were arranged in an energy harvesting circuit, and simulations were run to justify the synergistic aspect of these turbines. This project was very interesting and very fun to work on, and it won the Eversource Sustainability Award at the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair.

3. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)

One of my favorite pursuits has been FIRST Robotics. I joined in the eighth grade, and I gained great experience in mechanical engineering, CAD, CAM, electrical wiring, collaboration, and working under time constraints. I had previously served as leadership on an FRC team, and it was a very rewarding experience as I got to enrich my technical skills, soft skills, and build connections with many great people.

4. STEM4Ward - Co-Founder & Director

As Co-Founder and Director of STEM4Ward, I helped establish a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to STEM education for students from elementary through high school. I designed and led programs including free courses, workshops, and competitions, while mentoring high school students to take on teaching and leadership roles. In this role, I applied project management, communication, and leadership skills to organize initiatives such as a ten-week CAD workshop and an online CAD competition with a 3D printer as the grand prize. These efforts have reached dozens of students, providing them with hands-on learning opportunities and positive feedback that affirmed the impact of our work.
