French, taught by Madame Wildfong is an immersive French class where students begin to utilize conversational skills to improve fluency within the French language. This immersive approach has allowed students who have not been entrenched in the French language to develop proficient skills extremely quickly. It also utilities the concept of listening rather than speaking to help students connect the auditory concepts with spoken words.
One of my most memorable French assignments was an essay detailing a day in my life. I wrote about what I did from the moment I woke up and ended the moment I went too bad. Explaining everything I did all day and displaying what a day in my life is like. This assignment helped me utilize French skills like passe compose to help me develop my French grammar skills.
My favorite assignment this year in French was my Soupe a l’oignon Français presentation. Each student was tasked with creating a French dish and providing the recipe they used to create the dish. I chose Soupe a l’oignon Français withc is french onion soup. This assignment did help my French skills but it was also just a lot of fun to create my own French dish and eat a bunch of French food that I had never tried before.
