About Me

Music

Violin

My musical journey began when I was five years old, when I began taking piano lessons. For a long time, I learned piano under the Suzuki method, learning mostly classical songs. However, after covid I switched teachers and began to learn Jazz. My favorite song that I have played is Autumn Leaves.

I also play the violin, which I started learning when I was in third grade. In seventh grade, I joined the Worcester Youth Philharmonic, allowing me to play the violin with a greater ensemble. This past year, I joined the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra, in which I was given the opportunity to play more challenging repertoire by artists such as Mahler and Brahms. In addition, over the summer we went on a tour through Europe, providing classical music concerts for a lower price, allowing those who cannot afford to get tickets for professional ensembles to get a taste of live music. I also participated in the CDMMEA orchestra festival during my freshman and sophomore year of high school. This year, I have joined the WPI Philharmonic Orchestra.

Running

CliffWalk Running

Running is one of my favorite hobbies that I love to do whenever I have free time. My favorite place to run is along the cliff walk in Newport, RI. I started running in eighth grade when I joined the Trottier Track and Field team, where I usually ran 100 or 200 meters. In high school, I joined the cross-country team, in which I was introduced to long distance running. In Sophomore year, I joined the Indoor track team, where I ran 1000 meter and 1 mile. I will not be running at Algonquin this year but I still love to run whenever it is sunny outside and I plan on joining cross-country in my senior year.

Reading

In my free time, I love to pick up a nice book and read. My favorite genre to read is historical fiction! Historical fiction books fascinate me because they allow me to enjoy the story line and characters while simultaneously learning something new about history. My favorite book that I have read is “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. Although my favorite genre is historical fiction, I enjoy reading other genres as well. My favorite non-historical fiction book is “Lovely One” by Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Teaching

I teach STEM lessons at the Northborough and Hudson libraries. Every lesson we make a slideshow to go along with an experiment to teach the kids that attend. It is always so exciting to see them light up when they are doing experiments or just having fun choosing the color for their slime. I have also learned how to plan lessons and reach out to libraries about materials and times for the experiments. To learn more, visit libdma.org.

Youth Group

Mississippi

I volunteer with St. Matthews Church and St. Bernadettes Church, in which I get to work on projects to improve the church as well as helping the community. In the past we have volunteered at places such as the Northborough food pantry and Micheal Resnow Respite Center in Hopkinton. In addition, In the summer of 2024, I went on a mission trip to Mississippi. During this mission trip, I volunteered at a soup kitchen and a homeless day center, where I was given the opportunity to talk with the homeless and learn about their life experiences. In addition, we went out into the community, helping with renovation projects for those who would otherwise not have the resources or ability to complete the projects.
