Spanish

We have an advanced Spanish immersion course. We spend much of our time interacting with Spanish media like movies and songs to practice. We also have fun projects such as a movie.

Listening Log

Part of our homework is to listen to at least 20 minutes of any content in Spanish of our choice roughly every week, for a total of 10 entries. Two of these entries are required to be songs. For shorter pieces like songs, we are still allowed to choose them for an entry as long as we listen to them multiple times to make up at least 20 minutes. I spent most of my B Term entries watching The Boys, which is a very interesting show that explores what it would be like if superheroes were real and lived among us in our society. Of course, the show is originally in English, but it is dubbed and captioned in many languages, including Spanish. For my songs, I chose a couple of hip hop songs that I ended up enjoying as well.

A Term Essay

Our main unit in A Term was childhood, so for our essay near the end of the term, that was what we had to write about. We had to use the preterite and imperfect verb tenses, which are simple past tenses, to describe an event that happened in our youth. I wrote about the time I broke my arm playing on the playground at school when I was four years old.
