Hobbies:
My hobbies include reading, running, baking,
and painting. I recently read Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne
Collins. I also love to go on runs with my friends, bake cakes, and
paint landscapes. Additionally, I play the piano and love learning
classical and jazz pieces.
Family:
I live with my mom, dad, and younger brother.
My brother is 11 years old and in 6th grade. I love spending time
with my family and going on day trips on the weekends with them!
Community Service:
I’ve been volunteering at Westborough
Public Library as part of Wave, the teen volunteering program, for the
last 4 years. I am the Main Floor leader and coordinate volunteering
events, sign-ups, and town events for the library! I’ve met so many
of my friends through Wave, and I love spending time volunteering
here.
During junior year, I continued volunteering here by helping train new WAVE members. I teach new
members how to do circulation, which is pulling books off shelves that were requested, and logging
them into the library's online system. I've also volunteered at community events like the monthly
book sales and Winter Fest! The summer after junior year, I plan to continue volunteering at the
library's summer reading program, where I read to kids and host educational activities.
Science Olympiad:
At Westborough High School, I
participate in Science Olympiad, and we attend competitions at
Brown, Harvard, MIT, and Yale. I have a lot of fun exploring the campuses my team and learning
about my events: Rocks & Minerals, Fossils, Entomology, and Dynamic Planet.
DECA:
I've participated in DECA, a business club, since my freshman year.
Since then, I've competed in Principles of Business Management and
Human Resources and Management. I have so much fun competing with my
friends at districts and states, and I love learning about business
concepts. During junior year, I attended ICDC (International Career
Development Conference) and placed in the Top 10 for my test score!
Math Team:
I was part of the math team at
Westborough, and now here at MAMS. I love math team because I get to
learn new concepts and challenge myself with my teammates. I’ve had
so much fun competing at the Worcester County Mathematics League (WOCOMAL), state meets, Harvard, and Yale
competitions.
