World Language

The Language classes at Mass Academy – taught by Mrs. Wildfong – aim for an immersive experience that allows students to learn the target language to mastery. Her class also immerses students in the target language’s culture, including having students cook meals from that culture or learning the language’s slang.

The French Audio Logs are term-long assignments that allow us to watch or listen to anything we want, as long as it’s in French. These are my A-Term and B-Term listening logs. My favorite part of the Audio Logs is how we can discover new things that we like. For instance, I’ve discovered some of my favorite French Songs through the Audio Logs (and they’ve earned their rightful place in my Spotify Playlists). I’ve also learned common French slang which we may not use in class as often, such as “C’est dingue!” or “That’s crazy!”.

During B-Term, we had a Language Meme competition to see who would make the funniest meme. Ever since we made these memes, Mrs. Wildfong posts one new meme (both French and Spanish) on the bulletin board every week outside her office.
