This is our Walden Skit from August! For those unfamiliar with the book Walden, this is a biography written by Henry David Thoreau on his time living in the woods near Walden Pond in Massachusetts. His work was a part of the Transcendentalist movement, a school of thought that believes that humans are born innocent and have been corrupted by society. Our skit explores the background behind why Thoreau went to Walden Pond by essentially forcing Thoreau (Played by Arnav Prabhudesai) to confront the different “versions” of him present in the book. All of these “versions” – Emotional (Played by Nichelle Thinegar), Spiritual (Played by me, Aashriya Das), and Simple (Played by Atharv Joshi)– heavily conflict each other. Read the script to our skit to find out what happens to Thoreau in his dreams…
