Heramb Nemlekar

Heramb Nemlekar I am a Masters student in the Robotics Engineering Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. I did my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University in India where I was heavily involved in designing of robots for ABU Robocon Contests.

I believe the possibility of robots coexisting with humans at comparable intelligence levels is quite fascinating. This is the dream I constantly work towards. Accordingly, my research interests in robotics lie in the field of physical Human-Robot Interaction (pHRI) and Robot Navigation.

I work on the Telerobotic Intelligent Nursing Assistant (TRINA) for achieving seamless human-robot collaborative tasks. Currently, I am working on learning the task plan for a human-robot locomanipulation task. My previous work was focused on human-robot robot handovers, which still are a significant part of my research. Going forward, I am interested in navigation of mobile robots with a special inclination towards planetary rovers and space assistance robots.

Besides robotics, I enjoy playing soccer, watching the Premier League and writing music.
