Hello, my name is Vishal Balagani. I am a part of the Class of 2025 at the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science. Previously, I attended Grafton High School in my hometown where I have lived my whole life with my family. My interests include Computer Science, Robotics, and Business. In my free time I enjoy cooking and trying new foods or going outside, on a hike or walk.
As I mentioned before I love the outdoors and enjoying nature. Joining Troop 107 as a Boy Scout left me with some of my fondest memories and refined my familiarity with the outdoors. Going on several excursions and experiencing all sorts of activities with friends is something I truly enjoy. Being in Scouting also taught me lots of leadership skills and allowed me to work with all sorts of people.
In my time at Grafton High School, I was involved in DECA. It really sparked my interest in the business and gave me break from STEM. Being in DECA allowed me to improve my public speaking skills and learn more about the business world which really captivated me. I really enjoyed pursuing different business ideas and exploring different categories of business. By going to different events and working together as a team, I gained several experiences and opportunities that I may have never gotten before.
My community service so far has consisted of volunteering at the Grafton Farmers Market. I felt it was an awesome experience. I helped vendors set up and run their stands, which meant doing everything from arranging displays to helping with sales. I loved getting to know the vendors and interacting with the community. I also helped get rough estimates for foot traffic to help analyze the peak times of traffic allowing for a more productive market. It was a fun and fulfilling way to spend my time and give back to the community.
