Spanish

The Language classes with Mrs. Wildfong are unlike any other. Mass Academy offers two immersive experiences for Spanish and French. I have taken Spanish for the last two years, yet taking this class transformed the way I looked at Spanish. We play games, read stories practice pronunciation, watch movies and documentaries, and more, and I often leave class forgetting to "switch" back to speaking English.

El Diario Rutino

Here is an essay we wrote in Spanish, incorporating our vocabulary to describe our house and daily routine. I enjoy finding innovative ways to incorporate the words we learn through reading, movies, and our lists to have conversations and describe the world around us.

Historia de Arte

We began the year by learning about the culture and history of Spanish-speaking countries. I enjoyed learning about influential artists and how they contributed to the global art movement and advance representation of Latino voices. I researched Maria Izquierdo, a Mexican Artist during 1902-1955. Her art aims to uplift the voices of women, especially working women and mothers, and the challenges they have to face everyday. In this presentation I highlighted three of her art works I found particularly interesting, and applied the Spanish we have learned to describe the painting and its overall objective.
