Advanced French is a class taught by Madame Wildfong and in this class we watch French movies and read books to increase our comprehension and fluency in the language. Additionally, we are tasked with making our own short films in small groups to practice talking in French and creating something original.
I wrote a French fairy tale after watching La Belle et la Bête in class, allowing me to practice storytelling entirely in French. This project challenged me to use vocabulary, grammar, and creative language on my own while developing characters, dialogue, and plot. By putting my own twists on the classic story, I strengthened my writing skills and deepened my understanding of narrative structure in another language.

I maintain a comprehensive French vocabulary log throughout the term, recording new words I encounter in class, as well as from songs, movies, and TV shows I watch independently. This log helps me track my language growth, practice usage, and reinforce retention by revisiting and applying new vocabulary in writing and speaking. It serves as both a personal reference and a tool for reflecting on my progress in French over time.
