My name is Mary O’Brien, and I am quite obviously Irish. I am currently a junior at Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science. I live in Auburn, and formerly attended Auburn High School. My immediate family consists of my mother, my father, and my Golden Retriever, whose name is Sunny. I have always been interested in biology, but recently I have specifically become interested in neuroscience, molecular biology, and zoonoses. A fun fact about me is that while at the Adventures in Veterinary Medicine summer program at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, I have put my hand inside of a living cow’s rumen. She donates her rumen contents to other ruminants after they are given antibiotics, and she is perfectly fine.
