Language: Advanced Spanish - Sra. Wildfong
In Advanced Spanish, we further our fluency of Spanish through
in-class discussion, authentic texts, music, podcasts, videos, games
etc. While learning how to speak Spanish better, we also get to learn
about the unique aspects of different cultures around the world.
Here's some things I've been doing in Spanish:
Essay: Cuando Era Nina...
This is the first essay I had to write in Spanish.
Basically, we were tasked to write about a memory we had from our childhood. One of the strongest
memories I have from my childhood surrounds my first trip to the hospital. It may not
be the best memory, but it's definitely one of the strongest. This essay allowed me
to talk about a story in another language for the first time, and also helped me practice my use
of the past tense.

Listening Logs
Each term, language students are tasked with spending at least 20 minutes
each week listening to different types of media in Spanish. This includes songs, podcasts, audiobooks, movies, tv shows, etc.
This is the first year I've had to listen to tv shows in another language, and I personally think that it's really cool
being able to understand what the characters are saying in a different language. After listening to something
of your choice, we have to write a short summary of what the activity was saying. This has helped me to
practice conjugating verbs, learning new vocabulary, improving my Spanish, all while either watching a tv show or listening
to a song. Check out some of the things I've learned from my listening logs!
