Mathematics has been an important part of life for as long as I can remember. In this picture I am presenting my MatLab code to my class.
This picture was taken in my mother’s hometown Narva. Visting Narva was an amazing experience for me, as I felt more connected to my heritage. The third largest city in Estonia, Narva, contains an old fortress that faces Russia’s across the Narva River.
I have been a basketball referee at the Franklin Recreation Department for three years. Reffing has taught me how to stay strong against opposition and how to be a good leader. It has also taught me how to stay calm and collected in stressful situations. I am very excited for the season to start again soon.
This is my second year in Robotics, and I absolutely adore it! Last year I competed on the Franklin High school robotics team, winning at the WPI savage soccer event. This year I am competing on the WPI and MAMS first robotics team: 190. I am focusing on CAM-ing and CAD-ing and can’t wait to see how we do this year.
I am currently employed at the Russian School of Mathematics as a student tutor. Working with kids can be challenging, but I love how much it has improved, not only the kid’s math skills, but my own. At the RSM I work individually with students, as well as hlep run large events
I enjoy skiing every winter. My family has been skiing together as a family tradition every winter break. I love seeing my sister Veronica improve every year, and this season will be our 7th year.
Helping my community is deeply important to me. In this photo I am presenting to girls about working in STEM at the company WatersTM.
I volunteered for the MetroWest Franklin Girls' 6th Grade B Team. I helped set up and run plays during practice (e.g., setting up cones, guarding players, etc.). I also helped operate the scoreboard and manage the scorebook (used to track player statistics). It was fun watching the girls improve over the year and knowing I contributed to that growth.
I volunteered for the Franklin Senior Center’s Sunshine Club, a group focused on supporting seniors with Alzheimer’s. I helped decorate the space to boost morale and participated in activities with the seniors.
I volunteered at the New Life Furniture Bank of MA, where I helped clean, wash, and repair donated furniture so it could be given to families in need. I also processed furniture orders by selecting and preparing items requested by families.
I volunteered at the MAMS Open House. I spoke with prospective students and their families about our afterschool programs and answered questions. I also helped set up the Brickyard area for the director’s welcome speech.
