Physics is a class taught by Mrs. Chase where students mainly learn about mechanics but also explore some topics in electricity and magnetism towards the end of the year. These topics include kinematics, dynamics, circular motion, and more. The class prepares students to optionally take the AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam or AP Physics 1 Exam in May.
The Inclined Plane Lab was the first lab we did this year in
physics. Our setup involved a Vernier cart sliding down an
inclined track. The most challenging part for my group was
forming a linear equation based on our setup to be able to graph
our data. I thought it was an interesting lab and a fun way to
explore kinematics. Check out my full lab report over here →

The Optimization Problem of the Week (POW) was a challenging
physics modeling problem. The goal of this problem was to find
the distance away from a counter that a puck would land when
falling. Then, we needed to create an algorithm or formula to
determine the angle of the ramp that would maximize the distance
away from the counter that the puck would land. My group used
both Desmos and Excel to model
this problem. Check out our full write-up over here →
