I live with my Amma (mother, in Kannada), Nanna (father, in Telugu), and 6-year-old Airedale Terrier, Whiskey. They’re an endlessly reliable source of support and love, and I honestly wouldn’t be anywhere without them.
When prompted, I usually tell people I’m from “all over the States” and crack a joke about being Mr. Worldwide (like Pitbull) – I’ve only lived in four states, though. I was born in California, spent some time in Maryland, lived the longest in Illinois, and moved to Massachusetts two years ago.
