Humanities is a blend of mainly English and History, with elements from other humanities courses also being implemented. So far in the year we’ve done our Education, Rhetoric, and Satire units. We’re currently looking at identity and learning about the history of immigration.
Walden Skit
For our summer reading, we read Walden by Henry David Thoreau. It was a bit difficult to get through, but overall, it was an interesting read. When school started, we were assigned groups and asked to write a skit relating to Walden, so my group took the opportunity to humorously criticize the way Thoreau communicates his ideas.
Education Essay
When we got to the end of our education unit, we were asked to write an essay about some topic relating to education. I chose to write about the Dark Academia aesthetic and subculture and how it benefits students.
