The Spanish class at Mass Academy, taught by Mrs. Wildfong, is centered around discussion and understanding. We do fun activities each day regarding a variety of topics and practice our Spanish reading, listening, and speaking skills through movies, different readings, class discussions and games. We are currently working on a movie in groups that will later be published on Mrs. Wildfong’s youtube page.

Vocabulary Journal

Every term, we are assigned both a Vocab Journal and a Listening log. The vocab journal is a journal in which we write words or phrases we learn. Of course, we then have to define these words in Spanish and memorize them. The goal is 100-120 words per term. This is a great way to keep up with the Spanish class and know all the words that are mentioned every time. Additionally, it keeps our Spanish level improving as we are always attentive about new words that might pop up and take the opportunity to learn them.

Meme Contest

A fun activity we did in Spanish Class is the Meme Contest Activity. We were assigned to create 3 memes about Mass Academy in groups of 2 or 3. The memes would then be ranked by Mrs. Wildfong and she would post one meme per week (the best one in her opinion that is not yet posted)next to her office door. It is always fun to discover other people’s memes, but also kind of have a connection to them, as they are Mass Academy specific, which means they are most likely about something that happened to us or that we can relate to easily.
