My Project: Simulating and Developing A Solar Tracking Solar Cell Attachment for Residential Areas

Project Documentation

Given that Climate Change is a growing concern for the entirety of the world, I chose to invest this amazing research oppurtunity to make an impact on mitigating, and ultimately, reversing the adverse effects perpetuated by it. Solar panels, an unfamiliar technology over two decades ago, has grown in popularity and prominence all around the world; however, optimization has barely occured in the residential sphere. In fact, industrial solar cells havre begun to adapt solar trackers to better track the sun, allowing for increased energy and economic performance. Thus, I aspire to research, develop, and analyze the benefits solar tracking technology would have on the residential sphere. Through conducting the testing, it was discovered that dual-axis solar tracking decreases the Return-On-Investment period by 16%. In the future, research will take place on developing a model that can provide users with valuable data to make an informed decision
