French

French is a fully immersive class taught by Madame Wildfong, meaning that only the target language is spoken. Allowing us to truly absorb the language, we read books, play games, watch movies, and learn about the culture to gain a better understanding of the language. Also keeping vocabulary journals each term, we aim to draw or define five new words that we learn each class, building upon our ever-growing list of words.

Recipe Presentation

Learning the different tenses in the language, one of my favorite presentations we did was the Recette Présentation. The dessert I made was a lemon tart, and each person in our class either made an appetizer, main meal, or dessert for us to indulge in. The following week we gave presentations on the food we made, practicing using the past tense to describe the process taken. This was one of my favorite assignments as we were able to utilize our newfound knowledge of the past tense while enjoying some delicious treats!

French Memes

During B term we were given the opportunity to create French memes. Not only could we showcase our French writing skills, but also make some relatable MAMS jokes for others to laugh along with. Once they were finished, Madame put one up each week on the bulletin board, and even though some were in Spanish, everyone was able to understand them and have a good laugh.
