Course Description

Intermediate Spanish class is taught by Sra. Wildfong at Mass Academy. These collaborative immersion courses focus on acquiring language proficiency through the use of authentic materials, including literature, music, film, discussions, and games. Students understand grammar in meaningful contexts and engage in project-based learning as they produce podcasts, make movies, and engage in small group projects. Students are assessed on their individual progress via video, audio, and written portfolios.

Mi Rutina Essay

Exploring the Spanish language through the task of describing my daily routine was a fun, enjoyable experience. Writing about "Mi Rutina" provided me with an opportunity to convey my daily activities in a way that I wouldn’t typically, which is in Spanish. This exercise not only enabled the incorporation of new Spanish vocabulary and the application of reflexive verbs, but it also utilized familiar content to improve my understanding of a complex concept. The finished piece is on the right, so feel free to take a closer look at "Mi Rutina."

Spanish Memes

So far, my favorite Spanish assignment of the year was creating memes. While many students did this assignment on their own, we were allowed to choose a partner, and so the memes displayed here were created by Shaurya Patni and myself. What made this assignment so special was the freedom it granted us to express our personalities through humor, all while showcasing our proficiency in Spanish. Beyond the linguistic aspect, the assignment fostered a sense of camaraderie within the class. Sharing our memes became a collective experience, with each creation offering a snapshot of our individual perspectives and shared experiences at MAMS. If you understand Spanish, I highly encourage you to check out our work on the left!
